Lemax Vintage set of  (3)  2” coffins New in Package. These have been the classic go to miniatures for death, grief, and funeral symbolism for many years. I got my first ones in 2004.

There is one interesting symbolical value that is connected to the coffin, and that is the version in which you see a dead body in it.  It carries one sad symbolism since it signifies sorrow. It is possible that you lost someone to death, attended a funeral or some sad event that shook you.

  • Coffins have symbolic meanings in various cultures, representing protection, preservation, and the afterlife in ancient Egyptian culture, rebirth and transformation in Hindu traditions, death and closure in Christian burial practices, and cultural values and ancestor worship in African cultures.
  • Coffin designs reflect beliefs in the journey to the afterlife, social status, and aspects of the deceased’s life, such as their occupation, cultural values, aspirations, and achievements.
  • Coffins are used to honor and communicate with ancestral spirits, symbolically connecting the living and the deceased, and acknowledging the importance of the spiritual realm and the influence of ancestors on descendants’ lives.
  • African funeral rituals focus on celebrating the life of the deceased, with vibrant and colorful coffin designs that highlight positive qualities, achievements, and joyous aspects such as favorite hobbies or symbols, striking a balance between grief and celebrating a life well-lived.
